Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and Asian Studies from the University of Western Australia. He is currently completing a Master of Counselling at Australia's James Cook University. He has also completed Level 1 Training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and uses Gottman Method Couple Therapy in his work.

Prior to going into the field of counselling, Nicholas has more than 20 years of experience in the corporate world advising large corporations, NGOs, and senior leaders and bridging cultural differences. Having lived and worked across Australia, China, and Singapore in various regional and global roles, he combines professional expertise with personal experience to empathise with the challenges faced by expatriates and those undergoing significant life transitions.

Nicholas's counselling approach is grounded in evidence-based methods, providing children, teenagers, adult individuals, couples, and families with a solid foundation for their journey of growth.

For Children & Teens, Nicholas is able to support issues of school refusal, ADHD, anxiety, anger management, assertiveness, social skills, self-esteem, and depression. Additionally, he has special interest in helping teenagers to deal with issues of self-identity, social skills, time management and organization, motivation, and career/interest development. Nicholas is also able to assist parents dealing with challenging behaviours from their children or teens, including transition and adjustment during separation or divorce.

With individual adults, Nicholas supports them on stress management, burnout, work related challenges, life transition, relationship issues (partner, friends, family, work), career choice, addiction, depression, and anxiety. He also has interest in issues arising from family of origin history.

When working with couples, Nicholas helps couples in dealing issues of communication breakdown, identifying and changing negative relationship patterns that may be exacerbated by the stress of living abroad as an expatriate, helping foster understanding and connection in a relationship, building bond and intimacy, infidelity, separation, and divorce.

Nicholas is deeply committed to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where clients can explore their experiences, discover hidden strengths, and uncover unexpected resilience. His holistic view incorporates various different religious and spiritual systems if clients deem relevant.
